LETS DIG IN!
Give us a run down of your day to day duties… "I always start off my day by responding to any enquiries that have been emailed in and any viewing requests we have received and make sure these are actioned as quickly as possible. Next, I go over our property offers, negotiate anything I need to, and then report any outstanding viewing feedback to my vendors. Finally, onto sales chasing! This takes up the majority of my day and involves helping our buyers and sellers progress to completion."
What is your favourite part of your job? "It has to be completion day! Handing someone the keys to their new home is always the best feeling!"
What do you find most challenging? "Managing vendors/buyers expectations on the length of time that a property sale can take - there are so many factors and unknowns, it can be difficult to predict sometimes!"
If you could have a meal with any famous person, who would it be and why? "Definitely a comedian, someone like Ricky Gervais or Jimmy Carr, love a bit of dark humour!"
If you could pick anywhere in the world to go for a weekend getaway, where would you go and why? "It would be somewhere like Norway , me and my daughter want to go and see the Northern lights."
If you could live in a film, or a TV show, for a week, which would you choose and why? "Has to be Friends! No reason needed, it’s the best!"
If the office had a talent show tomorrow and you had to perform, what would your act be—and would you go solo or rope in a teammate? "Stand up comedy with Abbey, Steph and Alex because we are hilarious obviously!" (She isn't wrong - we are hysterical!)

Let’s Keep the Market Moving!
Let’s keep the property market buzzing! If you’re thinking about selling, don’t sit on the fence—get that home listed and let the magic happen. More listings mean more excitement, more viewings, and a higher chance of that perfect match. And buyers—when a place gives you that “this is the one” feeling, jump in with both feet! Hesitating could mean watching your dream home dance off with someone else. When sellers get bold and buyers stay ready, the whole market flows, ensuring everyone lands their next big move.
"Samuel Makepeace have been first class estate agents. They are very reasonably priced compared to others, for the fantastic service we've received. Stephanie George dealt with us through our sale and purchasing a new house. We can't praise her enough. She has been friendly, encouraging and extremely competent and motivated. Contacting solicitors on our behalf to ensure the whole process has been seamless. Stephanie removed the stress and hassle completely for us. The whole process from start to finish has only taken 3 months, and we can most definitely attribute that to Stephanie's skill and hard work. Stephanie is most certainly a valuable asset to the company. If we were ever to move again, we would definitely use Samuel Makepeace and we highly recommend them."
Key Industry News this month
- The Renters' Rights Bill, currently at committee stage in the House of Lords, is expected to become law by summer 2025. The bill aims to enhance tenant protections by banning rental bidding wars, requiring landlords to provide clear terms of tenancy, and establishing a private rented sector database.
-Nationwide Building Society is introducing new mortgage rules to aid first-time buyers. Starting June 26, 2025, buyers can secure loans for new build homes with just a 5% deposit, and access the Helping Hand scheme, allowing borrowing up to six times their annual income. Additionally, the required deposit for new build flats is reduced from 20% to 15%. These measures aim to facilitate entry into the housing market, particularly in high-cost areas like London.
The sun is out, and the time is right to move! Join us next month for our July edition!
